Private Equity

We work with deal teams and portfolio leadership on the technology questions that move value, from diligence through the operating plan.

Where value gets stuck

Technology risk is usually found after close, when it costs the most to fix.

  • Diligence stops at the architecture diagram

Reviews confirm which systems exist, not whether the business can run and grow on them.

  • The value creation plan assumes technology that isn't there

Margin and growth targets depend on data and systems the company doesn't have yet.

  • Portfolio companies solve the same problem separately

Each business rebuilds its own finance, pricing and reporting tools from scratch.

  • The CTO seat is empty or stretched

Mid-market companies often have nobody who can own the technology plan end to end.

Across the deal

  1. Technology Due DiligenceBefore close: what the technology can and can't support in the investment case.
  2. Value Creation PlanningThe first plan: the technology work the value creation targets depend on, in order.
  3. OperationsOperating model changes that make the plan run inside the business.
  4. Growth StrategyPricing, product and go-to-market work where technology is the lever.
  5. Cost OptimizationSpend reviewed across systems, vendors and teams, with savings the business can keep.
  6. CTOaaSA fractional CTO who owns the plan until the company hires its own.

An engagement, start to finish

  1. Where we start

We join the deal team before close and test the investment case against what the systems can actually do.

  2. What we build

After close we turn the findings into the first technology plan and start on the item the value case depends on most.

  3. How we hand over

We stay through the first reporting cycles, then hand the plan to the company's own leadership or help you hire it.

Questions

Can you work across several portfolio companies?

Yes. Where companies share a problem, we build the approach once and adapt it to each business.

How long does an engagement take?

Each engagement is time-boxed around one outcome. We agree the outcome and the end date before we start, and we plan the handover from the first week.

How is it priced?

We scope a fixed engagement around the outcome and agree the fee before work starts. If the scope needs to change, we agree that in writing first.

Do you replace our IT team or our vendors?

No. We work alongside your IT team and existing vendors, and recommend new tools only where the current ones can't do the job.

What happens to our data?

It stays in your environment. We work inside your systems under your access rules, and nothing leaves without your approval.
